Flower Pattern Eel 20cm-25cm The species is native to the Lake Inle area in Burma, where the water is moderately hard and has a slightly alkaline pH. Many beautiful and well-suited aquarium fish have already been imported from Lake Inle. Although this species was first scientifically described in 1893, it remains relatively new to aquarium enthusiasts. Our specimens display two distinct phenotypes: some are larger, sturdier, and exhibit a very dark coloration, while others are smaller, more elongated, and tend to be brownish. This variation may indicate sexual dimorphism. Generally, spiny eels can be bred in aquariums, and they prefer to spawn among the roots of floating plants close to the water’s surface.
