ALTEK MODEL 334A LOOP CALIBRATOR
Estimated Delivery:

Product Overview This is the ALTEK MODEL 334A LOOP CALIBRATOR. It is a small, tough milliamp loop calibrator made for precisely calibrating, fixing, and maintaining 4–20 mA process control loops. Technicians can check controls, recorders, indicators, I/P converters, valves, transmitters, and other field devices without having to switch between different tools because this one is a 4–20 mA source, mA meter, 2‑wire transmitter simulator, and DC voltmeter all in one. It is used a lot in HVAC systems, manufacturing, oil and gas, power production, industrial automation, and process plants where accurate loop checks are needed to make sure the system works well and follows the rules. The Model 334A has a true current-source design that keeps the set current constant even if the load or voltage changes. Its Quik-Chek® switch lets you quickly and reliably check three places at zero (4.00 mA/0.0%) and 200.00 mA/100.0%. Its tough, pocket-sized case, three 9-volt alkaline batteries, and over-load protection make it perfect for use in harsh settings, benchtop calibration, and emergency troubleshooting. Technical Specifications Parameter Specification Current Source Range 0.00–24.00 mA; –25.0% to 125.0% of 4–20 mA Current Read Range 0.00–52.00 mA; –25.0% to 300.0% of 4–20 mA % of 4–20 mA Display –25.0% to 125.0% (source) / –25.0% to 300.0% (read) Accuracy – Quik‑Chek 4 & 20 mA ±(0.03% of setting 1 LSD) Accuracy – mA / % Ranges ±(0.05% of reading 1 LSD) Accuracy – DC Volts ±(0.05% of span 1 LSD) DC Volt Range –99.99 to 99.99 V DC DC Volt Resolution 10 mV Voltage Input Impedance >2 MΩ Warm‑up Time 10 seconds to specified accuracy; 2–3 minutes for maximum accuracy Temperature Effect ±0.008% of reading/°C (mA); ±0.012% of span/°C (V) Battery (Internal) 3 × 9 V alkaline (1604) – supplied and recommended Battery Life (Typical) ~33 hours at 12 mA source; ~20 hours at 20 mA source ALTEK MODEL 334A Datasheet Manual Guide Download Manual PDF Usage: Check and calibrate pressure sensors, temperature transmitters, flow meters, and 4–20 mA process emitters that are all connected directly to the loop. The 334A can be used as a manual 4–20 mA loading station to troubleshoot and fix I/P converters, pneumatic valves, and actuators. At any point, you can source or read loop current to check controller outputs, DCS channels, PLC I/O cards, and chart recorders. You can test loop wires, receiver inputs, and control logic without taking out field devices by simulating a two-wire transmitter in live loops. Check the power sources and signal integrity by measuring the DC loop voltage, the I/V converter outputs, and the 1–5 V signals. As a short-term fix for broken controllers or transmitters in important loops, they keep the process running while spares are being changed.
